New York, 2019

Situated at the gateway to the Hudson Yards submarket, this repositioned, LEED Platinum office tower maintains the expression of the site and neighborhood while attracting creative tenants to its new Class-A workspace.

KPF renovated the eight-story warehouse and designed a new, 17-story building to rise from the podium. On the exterior, the podium’s lowered brick spandrels and new ribbon windows effuse greater natural light into the space. The lighting contributed credits to the building’s overall LEED Platinum certification.

As you enter the lobby, you are greeted with a colossal 68’ long monolithic light installation. The light beacon guides you from the entrance to the elevator docks. The light installation consists of two slabs of engineered laminated Italian marble that are grazed with light from each side. In the center, stalactites made of 3D glass fill the inside of the fixture and are individually illuminated with a backlit panel.
